Vortex is actively soliciting bids from prospective subcontractors/materials suppliers whose businesses qualify as Sec-3, SB,  MBE/WBE Business Concerns. Bids from prospective subcontractors/material suppliers are sought in connection with the Vida Scott Center Improvements project to be located in the County of Kern and funded by HUD (CDBG). Interested Section 3, SB, MBE/WBE Business Concerns may leave their firm’s names and addresses with Andi Jones at contracts@vortex-usa.com. A Sec-3 Business Concern is a business meeting at least one of the following criteria, documented within the last six-month period: (i) It is at least 51% owned and controlled by low- or very low-income persons; (ii) Over 75% of the labor hours performed for the business over the prior three-month period are performed by Section 3 workers; or (iii) It is a business at least 51% owned and controlled by current public housing residents or residents who currently live in Sec8-assisted housing. “We are an Equal Opportunity Employer”.
