is seeking certified and qualified DVBE subcontractors and/or suppliers to provide BIDS FOR THE WASHINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION – INCREMENT 2A Increment 2A of the comprehensive modernization project at Washington Middle School in Long Beach. This early-procurement increment covers furnishing and installing structural steel, metal deck, miscellaneous metals, railings, and elevators for the entire project, including a 118,531 SF three-story classroom building (Building 1000), a parking structure with rooftop field (Building 2000), a 42,687 SF gymnasium/classroom building (Building 3000), and a 16,440 SF auditorium (Building 4000). The purpose of this separate increment is to expedite detailing, BIM coordination, and material procurement to support the overall project schedule. Scope of work in this phase of the project includes, but not limited to: Structural Steel, Metal Deck, Miscellaneous Metals, Railings, and Elevators.

This project is subject to an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP). Subcontractors of all tiers must have an EMR of 1.24 or less at the time of enrollment and not greater than 1.5 over the last 5 years.

This project requires prequalification.  Long Beach Unified School District requires all general contractors and all mechanical, electrical and plumbers (MEP) subcontractors utilizing any of the following licenses be prequalified with the District: General Contractors (A and B) and Subcontractors (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46)

Erickson-Hall Construction provides notice to all contractors of the adoption of SB 854, this requires subcontractors to comply with the requirements as set forth on the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) website at http://www.dir.ca.gov/Public-Works/publicworks.html.  SB 854 requires all contractors who perform public works projects must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after, unless registered with the Department of Industrial elations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5).
