PROJECT DETAILS:

The Project is generally described as:  The Work includes but is not limited to: (a) removal of pavement and construction of two bioretention basins (b) construction of at-grade planters (c) removal of play yard striping (d) application of new play yard markings (e) relocation of two existing onsite basketball posts / backboards (f) installation of a new irrigation system (g) modifications to the onsite drainage system (h) the removal, storage and reinstallation of site furnishings and logs (provided by the District), and (i) the construction of the permeable base and perimeter curb for a synthetic turf sports field (the synthetic turf, shock pad and plastic nailer board will be supplied and installed by the District under a separate contract). Refer to Appendix C for Interim Placement of Site Furnishings Diagram showing the approximate locations of site furnishings and logs temporarily installed by the District prior to the start of this Project. The Contractor must carefully move and store these items during construction and then re-install them in the locations indicated on the Contract Drawings.

Alternate No. 1: New Basketball Posts/ Boards: Differential Price In lieu of removing, salvaging and re-installing two existing basketball posts / backboards at the new basketball court location, the Contractor shall demolish and dispose of the two existing basketball hoops and install two new basketball posts / backboards at the new basketball court location.

Alternate No. 2: Four New at Grade Planters Construct two new at-grade planters in the upper play yard against the eastern site boundary and two new at-grade planters in the lower play yard near the entrance from the parking lot. The total of all four planters is 1,205 sf. This alternate includes demolition and disposal of existing asphalt pavement and base aggregate, grading, installation of
metal edging along the sawcut pavement edge, planting, and installation of irrigation system in accordance with the Alternate Site Layout Plan included in the Contract Drawings.

Allowance No. 1 for Potential Naturally Occurring Asbestos (NOA) Compliance: Include the sum of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) for additional compliance measures in the event suspect serpentine rock or NOA is observed during excavation/trenching. Work under this allowance shall include, but not be limited to, observation and site controls, confirmatory sampling/analysis, enhanced dust suppression, air monitoring for personnel exposure assessments, and associated documentation/notification. Work shall be authorized only by written directive from the Owner/Owner's Representative. Unused allowance funds shall be credited to the Owner via Change Order.

The estimated construction value of the work is $580,000.00.
