PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project consists of a full modernization of the Gardena High School football stadium and track facilities, offering a broad range of scopes. The work includes demolition of the existing ticket booth, bleachers, soccer/football field including the existing track and field area and related site features, verification of the existing topographic survey, and construction of a new synthetic eight-lane all-weather track. New field event areas for long jump, triple jump, and high jump will be constructed, along with upgrades to the existing shot-put area. The project also includes a new regulation-size natural grass football/soccer field with complete irrigation and drainage systems, new home and visitor grandstands accommodating approximately 3,600 and 1,900 seats, a new press box, sound system, scoreboard, football goal posts, and new perimeter fencing and gates.
In addition to the athletic facilities, the project includes substantial site, utility, and building upgrades. Scopes include temporary staff parking early in the project, mass grading and earthwork, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, hardscape and landscape improvements, storm drainage, and utility infrastructure upgrades. Interior and exterior renovations will be performed at the existing home and visitor restroom and concession buildings, along with ADA accessibility improvements throughout the stadium, adjacent gym buildings, and associated paths of travel. The project will also include new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
