Conan Construction is inviting subcontractors to bid the Rancho Del Rey Middle School Building & Site Rehabilitation Project located in Chula Vista, CA.

Project Description

This project includes campus wide modernization and site improvements at Rancho Del Rey Middle School.

Campus Site Improvements

• Repair and upgrade of non compliant paths of travel including accessible ramps, stairs and walkways

• Reconfiguration of student drop off areas along Paseo Ranchero and East J Street including additional accessible drop offs and compliant sidewalks

• Replacement of accessible parking stalls in the East J Street drop off area and staff parking lot east of Building 900

• Connection of new downspouts to existing storm drains

• Concrete resurfacing at the covered pavilion

• Landscape improvements and irrigation system upgrades

• Replacement of site lighting with new LED pole lights

• Installation of shade structures throughout campus

• Replacement of drinking fountains with new ADA compliant fountains and bottle fillers

• New campus wide building and wayfinding signage

• Replacement of campus marquee sign

• Replacement and addition of pedestrian gates

• Painting of exterior covered walkways and canopies

• Removal of temporary portable classroom buildings at end of project

 

Building Modernization

• Replacement of low slope roofing with PVC roofing systems

• Replacement of standing seam metal roofing

• Replacement of roof drains, overflow drains and downspouts

• Replacement of skylights and roof hatches with new safety railing systems

• Exterior painting of all buildings

• Replacement of lower exterior wall systems with cement plaster

• Interior modernization including finishes, ceilings and room signage

• Replacement of window coverings and damaged windows

• Removal of overhead classroom doors and replacement with solid walls

• Replacement of gas HVAC units with electric heat pump systems campus wide

• Installation of security window film

• Replacement of door hardware in select areas

• Replacement of walls damaged by water intrusion as required

• Installation of roof ladders

• Replacement of casework

• Addition of roof insulation to meet Title 24

• ADA upgrades to existing restrooms

• Removal of operable partitions and replacement with solid walls

Important Project Requirements

• Project Labor Agreement (PLA) applies

• Prevailing Wage Project

• DIR Registration required for all contractors and subcontractors

• SUHSD Prequalification required for certain trades

• 3% DVBE participation goal or documented good faith effort required
