PROJECT DETAILS:
This project will replace the antiquated and deteriorated HVAC systems in the Main Building and one relocatable bungalow. The scope includes the demolition of the existing hot and chilled water system on the first and second floors of the administration building, its associated fan coil units, piping and cooling tower. The project includes the installation of seventeen (17) self-contained packaged heat pump units in the classrooms on the first and second floor to be powered by a new transformer. Four new split system FCU's in the first-floor corridor will serve the administration offices. A new outdoor chiller plant enclosure will house the VRF system FCU with heat recovery unit. All existing FCU's ductwork and abandoned systems will be demolished above the existing T-Bar ceiling on the first and second floors.
1) Phase 1 - Demo of existing FCU's, ductwork and abandoned systems above the existing T-Bar ceiling at 2nd floor corridor; installation of new outdoor chiller plant enclosure.
2) Phase 2- Installation of self-contained packaged heat pump units in the classrooms on the first and second floor; installation of new transformer.
3) Phase 3- Demo of existing FCU's, ductwork and abandoned systems above the existing T-Bar ceiling at 1st floor corridor. Removal of existing chiller and boiler systems, and restoration of existing chiller enclosure.
Bidders should note that LAUSD requires all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Contractors (MEP Trades) to be District Qualified. Deadline for MEP subcontractors to be prequalified by the OWNER: Monday, April 10, 2023. Bidder can only list MEP subs that are prequalified by the OWNER as of this date..
This project is subject to the District's Small Business enterprise (SBE), including Micro-Small Business Enterprises, and the recognized Veteran Business Enterprise Program (also Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises-DVBE). PINMOR will be actively seeking SBE's & certified VBE/DVBE to meet the percentage goal requirements.
This project is also subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and the LAUSD's DIR approved District Labor Compliance Program. There is also a Project Stabilization Agreement (PSA) that contracted subcontractors and contractors will be required to participate in. As part of this agreement, 50% of one's workforce is required as a goal to be District resident workers. There is also a We-Build hiring program, sponsored by the District, that we anticipate our selected subcontractors and tier-contractors to paticipate in.
Selected Bidder, and all of their contracted subcontractors and tier contractors, will be required to participate in a mandatory Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) on this project; There are specific safety EMR eligibility requirements to be able to participate.
All trades are expected to be bondable and prepared to furnish 100% Payment and Performance Bonds from an admitted surety for their bid. [Bond premium costs are to included in your bid as a separate item.] This firm will, at our discretion, reserve the right to waive the above requirements for such bond, and to permit other security as a substitute, or to accept alternate guarantees in lieu of. We will help assist interested subcontractors in Bonding, Lines of Credit, and Insurance needs, if required. However, please contact us prior to our bid date to discuss.
We will negotiate in good faith for all trade selections. Subcontractors/Suppliers selected will be required to agree to, and sign, our standard Master Subcontractor Agreement (including payment terms) a copy of which is available our our offices. No modifications to the contract will be permitted. Plan & Specification Hard copies are also available for review/takeoff at our Main Office during regular business hours: M-F, 7:30 am -4:30 Pm.
