Ohno Construction invites your firm to submit a bid for the following project:

Bonsall Community Park

County of San Diego (Parks and Recreation)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 

Base Bid (On-Site and Off-Site):

The proposed project will include the development of a 63 acre park including the park’s loop road, sewer lift station, soccer fields, prefabricated restroom and office building, playgrounds with resilient surfacing, picnic areas, multiple parking areas, carports with PV electrical system, concrete walks, entry monument signs, landscape planting and irrigation, perimeter fencing, electrical connections for lighting, stormwater and erosion control best management practices, and associated site furnishings and work. This includes both onsite work and offsite work within the right-of-way.

Interim Quantities:

In the event that bid Additive Alternates are not selected, the contractor shall be responsible for establishing the Interim Conditions and transitions, which may include, but are not limited to: Maintaining connectivity for irrigation, electrical, lighting and other utilities to be functional; stubbing and capping/plugging proposed utility pipelines beyond limits of base bid area for future connections; transitioning elevations from proposed to existing grades with grading, decomposed granite, or concrete at limits of base bid improvements when matching existing; establishing construction access at other locations and per the Base Bid – Interim Condition Plan.

Additive Alternate 1 (also known as Bid Alternate1):

Skate Park – Including general surface improvements, electrical and communications systems, fencing, shade structure, concrete work, planting and irrigation.

Additive Alternate 2 (also known as Bid Alternate 2):

Bike Park – Including general surface improvements, electrical and communications systems, water connections, grading and striping, shade structure, planting and irrigation.

Additive Alternate 3 (also known as Bid Alternate 3):

Dog Park and Sports Courts – Including general surface improvements, water connections, electrical and communications systems, basketball courts, tennis courts with nets, shade shelter, fencing, planting and irrigation.

Additive Alternate 4 (also known as Bid Alternate 4):

Ballfields – Including general surface improvements, electrical and communications systems, chain link fencing, field-related site furnishings, planting and irrigation.

Additive Alternate 5 (also known as Bid Alternate 5):

Ballfield and Concession Stand – Including general surface improvements, electrical and communications

systems, chain link fencing, field-related site furnishings, prefabricated restroom/concession building,

planting and irrigation.

County’s Estimated Cost: $20,834,000 to $36,830,000

Wage/Labor: State Prevailing Wage (San Diego County & San Diego Living Wage Rates)

Working Families Ordinance: Compliance with the requirements per Sections 73.10, et seq. of the San Diego County Administrative Code - includes prevailing wages, sick time and use of Skilled & Trained Workforce

Apprentices: Compliance with the requirements of Labor Code Section 1777.5, and any related regulations regarding the employment of registered apprentices

Electrician Certification & Labor Compliance: Compliance with CA Labor Code 108-108.5 regarding electrician certification requirements

Minority Participation: Disabled Veterans Business (3% Participation goal)

Vehicle Emissions Disclosure & Compliance Requirement: CARB (Mandatory)

Project Completion: 365 Working Days (Base Bid)

RFI Due Date: October 25th at 2pm

Unit Price Bid: This is a unit price bid; Subcontractors are required to submit: Bid Item No., Item Description, Quantity, Unit, Unit Price, and Item Total Amount in proposal (See attached Bid Schedule Worksheet) 

BID DUE DATE & TIME:  Friday, November 01, 2024 at 2pm

Bid due to District is Monday, October 14th however we are requesting all vendor and subcontractor bids be sent to us a day before the published bid date to allow us time for evaluation and entry.

Bid documents are provided for your reference only. All takeoff quantities provided by Ohno Construction are for your convenience only. Subcontractors and suppliers are responsible for obtaining all of the information necessary to provide a responsible and accurate quote.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

By submitting a proposal, the bidder acknowledges and agrees to all of the following terms: Proposer has carefully examined ALL the bidding documents/Addenda and that, from his/her own investigation, they have satisfied themselves as to the nature and location of the work. Ohno’s listing of a subcontractor is not an acceptance of any or all of that subcontractor’s conditions, qualifications, exclusions, or exceptions included in the subcontractor’s bid proposal. Ohno is relying on the price submitted in the subcontractor’s proposal as an all-inclusive price for its trade scope found in the plans and specifications regardless of qualifying language in the proposal. Inconsistent bid terms and conditions shall be void. Break outs of any portion of work is permitted as long as specifically and conspicuously called out on proposal. If selected, proposer is prepared to sign a subcontract with Ohno per Ohno’s standard subcontract agreement. A copy of Ohno’s standard subcontract agreement is available at its office locations or upon written request. Ohno Construction reserves the right to request that performance and payment bonds assuring subcontractor’s obligations to Ohno in the amount of 100 percent of the bid to Ohno. Ohno will reimburse the bond premium at actual cost not to exceed 2%. The surety must be a California admitted surety. Insurance must name Ohno as additionally insured and be in an amount required by the specifications.
