PROJECT DETAILS:
The project is located in the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge in California’s
Imperial Valley, approximately 90 miles southeast of Palm Springs, CA on the south side of the
Salton Sea. The project consists of rehabilitation of approximately one mile of the existing, natural surface Rock Hill Trail to provide Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) compliant access. Selective clearing of Salt Cedars will occur along portions of the trail and a new overlook will be constructed at the base of Rock Hill. Trail rehabilitation is included at two additional sites along with parking lot improvements including new sidewalk and ABA parking. Construction improvements will also include clearing and grubbing, trail and parking lot signage, benches.
